It's Just Not Fair

Call it what you like, but it just isn't fair. I'm an American citizen and proud of it. I wasn't born here, I became an American by choice. And it wasn't easy.

It took me five years and $7000. During that time I was ordered to travel backwards and forwards from Naples to Miami. I was fingerprinted multiple times and constantly threatened with deportation.

You are probably thinking that I must have been a highly suspicious individual just waiting to do something bad. Well you would be wrong. I am a retired English judge who wanted to do nothing more in America than enjoy my retirement, spend money and volunteer for good causes.

It is fundamentally wrong that people are encouraged to enter this country without let or hindrance to satisfy particular political goals.

My $7000 was well spent, and I would do it again, but there was no need for the harassment.
